The big headline is "Mitt Romney likes to fire people." Google that and you'll get 217 million results. Seriously!
What you're not getting is the entire quote. Without the entire quote you don't get the context and the whole thing is just misleading as hell. So me, being of sound mind and one who likes to set the record straight whenever possible, will give you the exact quote and then you can make up your mind how you feel about it. It all began when Romney was discussing health insurance and competition among insurance companies.
“I want individuals to have their own insurance. That means the insurance company will have an incentive to keep you healthy. It also means if you don’t like what they do, you can fire them. I like being able to fire people who provide services to me."
“You know, if someone doesn’t give me a good service that I need, I want to say I’m going to go get someone else to provide that service to me.”
Hey I say that all the time. I say it when I'm on the phone with Bell South for an hour trying to get someone to fix my bill, or when I'm at the local Target store and the cashier can't ring up my one purchase in a timely manner because she's too busy talking to her girlfriend in the other aisle about her date Friday night or that fifth piercing she's going to get in her nose, or when I'm at a restaurant and my food is getting cold as I wait for the silverware I asked for thirty minutes earlier.
I mean seriously, who of us hasn't at some point in time bitched about crappy customer service and made the statement that people who can't or won't do their jobs should be fired?
Don't hide, I know you're out there!
Amen to THAT!
